But really what is the honest truth about rev-shares?

In this post I will reveal to you 10 Brutally Honest, Shocking Truths About Rev-Share programs that you wish you knew. Once you understand these points you will approach rev-shares in a different way.

First of all, for those who may not know what a rev-share is, here is an explanation: "Traffic Revenue sharing programs" also known as "rev-shares" are are websites that have an advertising platform for persons to buy traffic for their websites or affiliate offer. However they add a means whereby the person who purchased the traffic are also allowed to earn a percentage of all the profits/revenue the rev-share company receive on a daily basis. The amount of money the person receives is based on the amount of traffic ads (also called adpacks or shares) the person has purchased from the rev-share company. The person is usually awarded a higher percentage on the money he/she has deposited in the company to buy adpacks; for example if you spend $100 on adpacks you may be given $120 or more in return.

So here are the Brutal Truths About Rev-Shares:

1. The majority of Rev Share programs are not sustainable and are not a profitable business model. More money goes out than what comes in. Most rev-share pay anywhere from 110% to 150% or even more on every dollar you spend. Revshares make no profit, in fact they lose money by giving back a higher percentage on your money. How long can a company survive if it spends more than it earns.

2. Most rev-shares LIE about having external income. Some rev-share owners recognize that a rev-share can not support itself by paying out more than it earns. As a result some will claim that they have external income to replenish high percentages being paid out. This external income claim can be anything from GoogleAdsense or selling premium ad spots on their site or selling ebooks and other software.

These owners are quit aware that the external income generated is insufficient to support the company, but they just mention it as a good selling feature to have members join the program. They will never provide you with any data of external income revenue because it usually does not exist or it is an insignificant amount to prolong the life of the rev-share.

3. There is no such thing as "TRUSTED ADMIN/OWNER". The term "Trusted Admin" or "Trusted Owner" no longer means anything. Some rev-share owners come as wolves dressed in sheep clothing because they realize the large amount of quick money that can be deposited in a rev-share program for their taking. They may have a real Facebook profile and appear in videos, but this no longer means anything, because they are aware of the likihood of them being prosecuted by the law are slim.

The owner may seem genuine with good intentions at the beginning. But greed sometimes gets the best of them. There is nothing stopping the owner from withdrawing the money to separate accounts of his own; the account records are not available to members so who knows what is happening behind the scene. People change and there is no way of knowing what their exact motives are, especially when they are on the other side of the globe.

4. These programs are usually ran by one or two persons. This makes it vulnerable and fragile; let's say the one owner gets sick or die, your money is trapped in the system and no one is available to authorize withdrawals. Rarely are rev-shares run by companies, they tend not to have full-time tech staff and customer service personnel, so from time to time a site with a cheap script may have issues due to heavy traffic on the site. Because rev-share sites are usually ran by one or two persons, don't expect a quick response to support questions. If the program has a Facebook group it is best to join the group to have other members assist you.

5. Filing Disputes Will Likely Not Get Your Money Back. If the program fails or turns out to be a scam you will not get your money back. When purchasing adpacks from within any rev-share the company usually has a clause which states that you can not get your money back because of the type product you are purchasing, further they state that the rev-share earnings are not mandatory or guaranteed to be paid to you.

So if the owner close the program to scam you, even if you file a dispute with your processor company, he will be able to contest or object to your dispute, which will usually be awarded in his favor. Also, please be aware that after a rev-share collapses other than it being a scam, the owner may reset the program, but your deposited funds you originally had in the program will not be added to your "cash balance" for withdrawal. Whatever money you had deposited in the system will be added to your "re-purchase balance" thus forcing you to buy more adpacks and stay with the program.

6. Expect Changes. When a rev-share is initially launched there may be higher earning percentage rates on referral commissions or adpack earnings, this is done to entice members to join and promote the program. However as time passes and once momentum increases, members with naturally start withdrawing on matured adpacks. As a result the earning rates are then reduced. For example, instead of earning 220% on a $1 adpack, the rate may increase to 120%; Fort Ad Pays rev-share is an example of this drastic change.

7. New members are mandatory. This applies mainly to rev-shares that have no external sources of income. Rev-shares need new people coming into the system and depositing "fresh funds" for it to keep going. With no external source of income, the rev-share uses the new funds deposited by new members to pay withdrawals from older members whose adpacks are maturing.

8. They last no longer than 6 months. The reality is that about 99% of revshares don't make it beyond 6 months. This could be for any number of reasons, but mainly due to the program turning out to be a scam, or mismanagement of funds, or collapse of the program due to payouts being more than deposits because of high percentage earnings, etc. As a result of this short life span, you can find yourself looking for a new program to join every 3 months.

9. They are not pyramids or ponzi-schemes. While some rev-shares have characteristics of ponzi-schemes, the reality is that they are not. There is a product being offered for sale which is TRAFFIC / ADVERTISING. Also new and old members have opportunity to make money from the system, whereas in ponzi-schemes only the first set of members make money.

10. You must get referrals. All members who join legitimate rev-shares can make money. However if you want to make a meaningful amount of money, it is more beneficial to refer others, because when you refer others you will be paid commissions which can be used to build your amount of adpacks at a faster rate. If you want to experience the maximum financial benefit from a rev-share, you must get referrals. Getting referrals is not as hard as some people make it out to be, in fact it is easier than you think.

To the End

As you can see using rev-shares to make money online is risky business but the legitimate ones are a great easy source source for anyone to make money online. Unfortunately some people will win and others will lose because they do not know what they are doing and how to harness the power of these programs. Just like the stock market, using rev-shares are no different, you must know what company to buy shares (adpacks) from, when to buy those shares and when to pull your money out. No rev-share is 100% guaranteed to not fail. But once you understand what to look for in a rev-share, your chances of being scammed or losing money will become less likely.

Should you decide to join rev-shares, here are some solutions when trying to find ones with lesser risk:
(a) Make sure the program has external income, it is preferred that the rev-share side is just a side benefit of an already established business program. For example PaidVerts is a social media business, but on the back-end they offer rev-share program called Paidverts to members in the social media program.
(b) Find out if the company is willing to provide proof of external financial income along with account records.
(c) Ensure that the rev-share program has a full-time staff with more than just one person involved along with registered licensed company name and physical address. AdPackPro rev-share has a complete staff with their program.
(d) Always do your own due diligence and research, but be careful of some review websites, they may speak good about a program, just to have you join, so that they earn commissions from you.
(d) Avoid fast earning and high percentage rev-shares, because they are bound to fail with 3 months.
(f) As always "If it seems too good to be true it usually is".
